Azerbaijan’s annual piano imports: quantity rises, value drops

In 2023, Azerbaijan’s piano imports saw a significant shift, with a total of 952 instruments brought in, amounting to $255,420, Report informs, referring to the State Statistics Committee.

This reflects a 27 percent increase in quantity but a 17 percent decrease in monetary value compared to 2022.

The majority of these imports were from China, with 938 pianos valued at $207,480, marking a 26-percent increase in volume but a 23- percent decrease in value year-over-year.

Additionally, Azerbaijan received 2 pianos from Germany, totaling $27,200, which is a 16-fold increase in value from the previous year.

The country also expanded its import sources, purchasing 4 pianos from Indonesia for $13,500, a new addition compared to the prior year.

Last year, Azerbaijan imported pianos from Australia and Great Britain for the first time in over a decade - since official public-use foreign trade statistics have been available from 2011, with one instrument from each country valued at $4,000 and $960, respectively.
