Azerbaijan’s animal fat imports triple

In 2023, Azerbaijan imported 678 tons of animal fat (cattle, sheep and goat) worth $1.2 million, which represents a three-fold increase both in volume and value from 2022, Report informs with the reference to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 409.7 tons (+16 times) from China worth $706,700 (+16 times), 115.9 tons from Russia worth $193,900, 45.85 tons (-8%) from Iran worth 107,950 (-3%), 40 tons (+2.6%) from Mongolia worth $80,000 (+21%), 50 tons (-49%) from Brazil worth $78,200 (-50%).
Last year, the country supplied animal fat from Russia for the first time since official statistics on foreign trade in Azerbaijan began in 2011.
