Azerbaijan’s aluminum exports halve in value

Azerbaijan exported 8,317 tons of aluminum, valued at $19.1 million in the first four months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, the exports dropped by 46 percent in volume and fell by 50 percent in value.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan sold 4,552 tons (-62%) of aluminum to Türkiye worth $10.4 million (-64%), 2,508 tons (+19%) to Japan worth $5.3 million (+19%), 924 tons (+2%) to Uzbekistan worth $2.5 million (-6%), 284 tons (no supply a year ago) to Iran worth $684,000, 48.6 tons to Spain worth $136,000.
In 2024, Azerbaijan exported aluminum to Spain for the first time in the last 13 years.
