Azerbaijan resumes spark plug imports from 3 countries

Azerbaijan imported a total of 3,348,636 spark plugs, valued at $5.1 million in 2023, Report informs, referring to data of the State Statistical Committee.

This was a 60 percent rise in value and a 91 percent surge in quantity compared to 2022.

In the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 2,282,655 spark plugs from China for $1.7 million (2.8 times more in value and 2.4 times more in quantity), 273,000 spark plugs from Japan for $1.3 million (+2.6% in value and -27% in quantity), 140,584 spark plugs from Germany for $500,000 (2.4 times more in value and 3.84 times more in quantity), 14,923 spark plugs from the US for $484,000 (+49% in value and +2.3 times in quantity), and 154,112 spark plugs from South Korea for $465,000 (+10% in value and +1.2% in quantity).

Azerbaijan also restarted spark plug imports from Sweden (30 units for $100) after 4 years and 10 months, from Canada (6 units for $100) after 2 years and 6 months, and from Austria (22 units for $64,700) after 1 year and 8 months.

In 2022, 55 percent of the 1,749,834 spark plugs that Azerbaijan imported from 30 countries came from China and 21.4 percent from Japan.
