Azerbaijan resumes methanol exports to Egypt

Azerbaijan exported 148,000 tons of methanol, valued at $29.2 million in the first four months of 2024, Report informs, referring to the country’s State Statistical Committee.
The obtained data shows that the exports dropped by 6 percent both in terms of volume and compared to the corresponding period of 2023.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 45,118 tons (+56%) of methanol to Türkiye for $8.9 million (+42%), 26,717 tons (-14%) to Italy for $5.3 million (-24%), 22,696 tons (+2.8 times) to Israel for $4.3 million (+2.2 times), 18,575 tons (+2.3 times) to Slovenia for $3.65 million (+93%), and 16,550 tons (-11%) to the Netherlands for $3.3 million (-17%).
After a break of 1 year and 8 months, Azerbaijan resumed methanol exports to Egypt, weighing 6,100 tons worth $1.3 million.
Overall, 501,571 tons of methanol were exported from Azerbaijan to 10 countries in 2023, of which 22% went to Türkiye, 17.1% to Romania, and 15.5% to Italy.
