Azerbaijan resumes cocoa imports from Taiwan

Between January and May this year, Azerbaijan imported 305 tons of cocoa powder worth $2.2 million — a 9% decrease in value and a 45% drop in volume compared to the same period last year.
According to Report’s calculations based on State Statistics Committee data, during the reporting period Azerbaijan imported 196 tons of cocoa powder from Türkiye (-39%) worth $1.5 million (-5% year-on-year), 27 tons from the Netherlands (-74%) worth $246,000 (-46%), and 27 tons from Germany (up 37 times) worth $178,000 (up 30 times).
After a hiatus of 1 year and 8 months, Azerbaijan resumed imports from Taiwan, purchasing 0.2 tons worth $1,300.
In 2024, of the 1,271 tons of cocoa powder imported into Azerbaijan, 51% came from Türkiye.
