Azerbaijan resumes coal imports from Germany

In January-April of 2024, Azerbaijan imported 7,556 tons of coal (anthracite, bituminous and other types) worth $1.48 million, up 72% and 75%, respectively, year-on-year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 7,551 tons of coal (+72%) worth $1.46 million (+74%) from Russia, 4.52 tons (+2 times) worth $11,000 (+5.5 times) from Türkiye, and 0.01 tons worth $160 from Germany.
Azerbaijan resumed coal supply from Germany after five years and six months.
Russia accounted for 99.7% of the 8,937 tons of coal exported to Azerbaijan from 5 countries in 2023.
