Azerbaijan posts 36% growth in trade turnover with Central Asian countries

Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with the Central Asian countries in January-May 2023 amounted to $668,159,000, up 36.1% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
In the reporting period, export operations increased by 57.5% to 120,709,000, and import operations went up by 31.1% to $548,759,000.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan stood at $392,747,000, with export operations accounting for $38,324,000, and import operations for $354,423,000. These figures were 3.6 times higher than the previous year.
During the five months of 2023, the trade turnover with Kazakhstan amounted to $194,179,000 (-1.2 times). Exports increased by 2.6 times to $49,767,000, while imports dropped 1.6% to $144,412,000.
The Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan trade turnover made up $66,296,000 (+1.02 times), with export operations amounting to $19,743,000 (+1.03 times) and import operations making up $46,553,000 (+1.01 times).
The trade circulation with Kyrgyzstan grew by 3.9 times to $13,588,000. Export operations surged 13.8 times to $11,566,000, and import operations declined by 1.3 times to $2,022,000.
The trade transactions between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan in the reporting period stood at $1,498,000 (-1.8 times), with export operations accounting for $1,309,000 (-1.8 times) and import operations amounting to $40,000 (+1.4 times).
