Azerbaijan increases import of corn oil from Turkiye over six-fold

In January-May of this year, Azerbaijan imported 8,326 tons of corn oil worth $14 million.

Report informs referring to the data of the State Statistics Committee, compared to the same period last year, this is 24.2% less in value terms and 23.4% in quantitative terms.

The imports made 3,483 tons (56% less year-on-year) worth $5.4 million (-58%) from Argentina, 4,168 tons (+6.3 times) worth $7 million (+5 .3 times) Turkiye, 620.6 tons (-42.6%) in the amount of $1.4 million (-34.7%) from Russia, 51.5 tons (-66.7%) in the amount of $143,800 (-63%), from Germany 0.8 tons (-39.7%) in the amount of $3,800 (-40%).

Of the 20,527 tons of corn oil imported to Azerbaijan last year (12 countries), Argentina accounted for 58%, Brazil for 19.4%, Russia for 8.8%, and Turkiye for 7.6%.
