Azerbaijan increases export of pears to main market 7 times

In the first two months of 2022, Azerbaijan imported 380.29 tons of pears worth $342,270, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.

Compared to the same period last year, this is 40.6% less in value terms and 39.8% less in quantitative terms.

Some 315.84 tons of products were imported from Belgium for $284,260, from Turkiye - 53.31 tons for $47,980, from the Netherlands - 11.14 tons for $10,020.

Compared to the same period last year, imports from Belgium decreased by 49.9% and 50.6%, respectively, from the Netherlands increased by 30.1 and 29.4 times. A year earlier, no pears were imported from Turkiye.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported pears only to Russia. Some 462.11 tons of products worth $381,940 were exported to this country, which is 6.8 and 8.1 times more, respectively, than in the same period of 2021.

Of 5,780 tons of pears exported last year, 97% came from Russia.
