Azerbaijan develops measures to encourage use of eco-friendly transport

This year, Azerbaijan has developed a Roadmap to conduct assessments, prepare and implement proposals to stimulate and encourage the use of environmentally friendly transport, Report informs.

The document was presented at a press conference on the topic “Operation of environmentally friendly vehicles and a clean environment in Azerbaijan.”

Speaking at the event, an expert, a member of the working group that prepared the Roadmap, Eldaniz Jafarov, noted the importance of increasing the use of environmentally friendly cars for the implementation of national priorities for 2030.

“The creation of favorable conditions for the use of environmentally friendly cars in the country has led to an intensification in this area. If we look at the statistics of recent years, we will see that the number of old cars imported into our country is declining. We believe that the private sector will also contribute to this. Now interest rates on car loans are slightly higher. Banks can offer car loans at lower interest rates and on more favorable terms, which will increase access to new, environmentally friendly cars,” Jafarov said.
