Azerbaijan boosts export/import of fruits and vegetables

Azerbaijan imported 141,808 tons of fruits and vegetables, valued at $99,275,000 in the first quarter of this year, Report informs with reference to State Customs Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, the imports rose by 13,521 tons or 10.5% in volume and $16,170,000 or 19.4% in value.
Import of fruits and vegetables accounted for 2.67% of the total imports of Azerbaijan.
In January-March 2024, Azerbaijan also exported 111,441 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $132,579,000, representing an increase of 20,548 tons or 22.6% in volume, and an $17,639,000 or 15.3% in value compared to the same period of the previous year.
The export of fruits and vegetables for the reporting period made up 2.2% of the country’s total export.
