Azerbaijan begins plastic containers import from Andorra and Lebanon

In 2023, Azerbaijan imported 1,809 tons of plastic containers (food and kitchen utensils) worth $5.6 million, Report informs via the State Statistics Committee.

This is 14 percent more in value, and 12 percent more in volume than the indicator of 2022.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 784 tons of plastic containers from Türkiye (+10%) worth $2.5 million (10% more than YoY), 472 tons (+29%) from China worth $1.5 million (+19%), 489 tons (-3%) from Iran worth $992,000 (+1%), 1.2 tons (+52%) from Indonesia worth $77,240 US dollars (+64%), from 4.61 tons (+2.2 times) from Italy worth $73,000 (+2.7 times).

In the previous year, marking a first in over a decade - since official public-use foreign trade statistics have been available from 2011 - imports were recorded from Andorra, totaling 0.01 tons at a value of $170, and from Lebanon, amounting to 0.04 tons valued at $810.
