Azerbaijan begins importing chocolate from three more countries

In January-November 2023, Azerbaijan imported 27,750 tons (14% more year-on-year) of chocolate for $98.4 million (18.4% more YoY), Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 15,515 tons (+2.3%) of chocolate worth $42.43 million (-6.5%) from Russia, 2,922 tons (+3.3 %) worth $14.5 million (+18%) from Türkiye, 2,995 tons (+52%) worth $9.7 million (+67%) from Ukraine, 1,264 tons ( +2.4 times) worth $8.1 million (+2.6 times) from Poland, and 952 tons (+2.2 times) worth $4.92 million (+2.5 times) from the Netherlands.

In 2023, for the first time in the last 12 years, supplies were made from Albania (1.26 tons for $6,800), Jordan (0.65 tons for $19,640) and Kyrgyzstan (2. 11 tons for $5,600).

Of the 27,518 tons of chocolate imported into Azerbaijan (from 44 countries) in 2022, 61% came from Russia, 12% from Türkiye and 8.4% from Ukraine.
