Azerbaijan begins importing canned peanuts from Hungary

In January-February of this year, Azerbaijan imported a total of 179 tons of canned peanuts, valued at $494,000, Report informs.

Data from the State Statistical Committee shows that this is an increase of 10 percent in value and 25 percent in volume compared to the corresponding period in 2023.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 91 tons (+10%) of canned peanuts worth $242,000 from China (-5%), 16 tons (-33%) worth $65,200 (-22%) from Türkiye, 26 tons worth $58,000 from Uzbekistan (no supply a year ago), 12.81 tons (+8-fold) worth $44,000 (+9-fold) from the UAE, and 21.54 tons worth $35,500 from India.

For the first time in 13 years, Azerbaijan imported canned peanuts from Hungary, (0.07 tons valued at $730). This marks a notable event, as the publicly accessible official foreign trade statistics date back to 2011.
