Azerbaijan becomes main exporter of tea to Iraq

In January-March this year, Azerbaijan was one of the main exporters of tea to Iraq, Report informs referring to foreign media.

During the reporting period, Iraq imported the biggest volume of tea from Sri Lanka (75% more than a year earlier), Russia (15% less), UAE (57% more), Azerbaijan (17% more) and Iran (27% more). Other major suppliers included Turkiye (dropped from first to sixth place in 2021), Libya, China, Saudi Arabia and Germany.

In January-March this year, the total volume of tea imports to Iraq decreased by 6.19 million kg, or 8.9%, to 63.7 million kg compared to the same period last year.

Only in March this year, the total volume of tea imports to Iraq amounted to 23.17 million kg, which is 2.64 million kg or 10.2% less than a year earlier.
