An agreement on economic cooperation has been signed between the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania, Report informs referring to the Economy Ministry.

The signing ceremony took place at a meeting between Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy of the Republic of Albania Belinda Balluku.

The document provides for encouraging cooperation in priority areas, including trade, investment, energy, transport, infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, the environment and the humanitarian sphere.

During the meeting, the successful development of relations with Albania was emphasized, as well as the importance of mutual high-level visits and ongoing negotiations in expanding cooperation. Strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries holds an important place in bilateral relations. Business visits, meetings and the organization of various events play a beneficial role in the formation of effective economic partnerships.

The meeting provided information about a favorable business and investment environment, opportunities created for investors, and noted the potential for strengthening partnership with Albania in the areas of energy, trade, investment, industry, agriculture, tourism, transport and infrastructure.

The parties discussed the possibilities of promoting bilateral business partnership, investments and joint activities.
