Ambassador: Over 720 Russian enterprises operate in Azerbaijan today

Baku. 24 December. REPORT.AZ/ Russia has invested $4.2 billion in Azerbaijan, Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov said at a press conference.

"There are over 720 joint Russian enterprises in Azerbaijan that cover various areas: agricultural production, industrial production, trade, services. In general, they to some extent reflect the investment cooperation of our countries," Bocharnikov said.

He noted that a figure was recently announced, according to which Russia invested $ 4.2 billion in Azerbaijan.

"I would like our enterprises to focus on the industrial sphere in order to diversify the economy of Azerbaijan and our economic relations," the diplomat said.

He pointed out that this year, SOCAR opened a large polypropylene plant in Sumgait at the expense of Russian investments.

"We also plan to create joint ventures in the field of petroleum engineering, agricultural engineering. We are interested not only in supplying products here, but we are also ready to create joint-venture enterprises here," Bocharnikov said.
