Colombian composer takes first place at Azerbaijan Uzeyir Hajibayli International Composition Competition

Colombian composer Marius Diaz ranked first in the 13th Uzeyir Hajibayli International Composition Competition, an event that has been held since 2009 with the support of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the National Society of Music and Global Culture in New York, Report informs referring to the Colombian Embassy in Azerbaijan.

The triumph of maestro Diaz was announced at the awards ceremony and the gala concert that took place at the end of September at the Mugham International Center in Baku.

The works of the contest winners performed included the Koroglu Aria, based on the original composition of the Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibayli, which made it possible for Maestro Diaz to take the first place.
