Baku to host exhibition of famous German photographer dedicated to Berlin’s nightlife

Baku. 20 February. REPORT.AZ/ From February 25 to March 6 German-Azerbaijani cultural center "Kapellhaus" in Baku will host exhibition of the famous German photographer Sven Marquardt, dedicated to the Berlin’s nightlife. Report informs referring to the press service of the German Embassy in Azerbaijan.

Over the past decade Sven Marquardt has raised to international fame as a

photographer depicting the famous figures of Berlin’s nightlife. In his black and

white staged portraits made with the use of analogue equipment Marquardt

captures friends, colleagues and companions. The whole process of exposing

the film and selecting the photographs for print takes several days of

anticipation before seeing the end result of his work.

The ‘Altar’ audiovisual installation brought to Kapellhaus by Goethe-Zentrum

Baku is Sven’s collaboration with another famous techno club figure - DJ and

music producer Marcel Dettmann. His music effortlessly balances emotional and

surprising moments of Sven Marquardt’s set of changing images delving the

visitors into Berlin’s nocturnal atmosphere.

Exhibition regular hours are every day, from 14:00 to 20:00.
