Azerbaijan-Turkey alliance ensuring regional peace and stability

Every step taken in the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan serves to develop regional cooperation and strengthen security. The liberation of Azerbaijani lands has positively impacted the expansion of ties between the two countries. It is proven by the third visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Azerbaijan in the last 12 months.

In fact, Erdogan's visit is important in several ways. It demonstrates Azerbaijan's control over the liberated lands to the whole world, proving that investing in these territories is not risky. The Turkish leader's visits are an indication of the effectiveness of cooperation between the two countries. In a joint statement made by the presidents in Zangilan on October 26, President Ilham Aliyev said: "Your visit is very important. You are visiting the liberated lands for the second time. Four months ago, you and I visited Shusha together, and today we are visiting Fuzuli and Zangilan. The Shusha Declaration signed in the city of Shusha is a historic document. This declaration officially raised Azerbaijani-Turkish relations to the level of an alliance. Our joint participation in the opening of Fuzuli International Airport today once again demonstrates our unity and strength. It testifies to the fact that Turkey and Azerbaijan as two fraternal countries always stand by each other."

The meetings of Turkey and Azerbaijan leaders are a clear demonstration of the unshakable unity of the two countries. Not only Turkey and Azerbaijan benefit from the relations between the two countries in all directions but the cooperation between the two countries and the projects implemented are of great importance at the regional and international levels. Many ethnic groups in the world are close to each other and build different states. Azerbaijan and Turkey are among such countries. However, the world rarely benefits from the cooperation of such countries. In some cases, the relationship between ethnically related states is becoming a source of danger for the world and a threat to international security. However, Turkish-Azerbaijani relations are not only an example to the world but also beneficial.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Zangilan on October 26: "Today, the Turkish-Azerbaijani cooperation and brotherhood have become an important factor in regional affairs and even on a global scale. Thanks to the leadership of my dear Brother, Turkey has already become a great power on a global scale, and no one can dictate their will to it. I know that you have a very busy schedule. You recently paid an official visit to four African countries. Following this, you participated in an important event in Turkey. After that, you found time and came here to be with us - with the Azerbaijani people on this wonderful day. We appreciate this very much. This is an example of true brotherhood and true friendship. This is a message to both the Azerbaijani and Turkish peoples and indeed the whole world – we are together. Our unity is indestructible and eternal."

Recep Tayyip Erdogan also spoke about the relations between the two countries, their development and benefits, and regional issues: "Turkey will continue to participate in this work with all its capabilities to support fraternal Azerbaijan. At the meetings held today with my brother Ilham Aliyev, we discussed bilateral relations and regional processes in great detail. We had the opportunity to assess the expansion of the cooperation in the economic sphere and trade, the current state of affairs and plans for the future related to the energy, transport and development of Karabakh. At the same time, we discussed how we can develop our ties further, which, thanks to the Shusha Declaration, have reached the level of strategic alliance."

Thus, both leaders demonstrate through their practical activities that they put national interests above all else and resolutely defend them. Thanks to their leaders, Turkey and Azerbaijan are recognized and accepted worldwide as countries that have achieved great success and pursue principled, courageous, and thoughtful policies.

After having liberated its lands from occupation, Azerbaijan has done a lot in those areas. The construction work will also give impetus to the economic development of the region. This may have a positive impact on the cooperation of the South Caucasus republics, their neighbors, as well as the forces interested in the region. The work done by Azerbaijan in the occupied territories will also contribute to the realization of the region's economic, tourism, and agricultural potential. The work done in this direction brings peace, development, and progress to the region.

The events proved that Armenia has pursued a policy that brought disasters in the region for many years. The destructive policy followed by official Yerevan has been threatening the security of the region for 30 years. Against the background of the tragic situation in the territories of Azerbaijan, the constructive mission carried out by official Baku has once again confirmed that there is no other way but regional cooperation. Azerbaijan's construction work has shown the international community that it is the architect of the new conditions in the region. Cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan will give impetus to regional development.
