World Cup in rhythmic gymnastics opens in Baku

The opening ceremony of the World Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics has been held in Baku.

According to Report, Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov wished success to the athletes.

"Holding the World Cup in rhythmic gymnastics has already become a tradition. This sport is actively developing in Azerbaijan thanks to the support of the head of state. We wish all athletes good luck and success in competitions," the minister said.

116 athletes representing 41 countries take part in the competition. The traditional AGF Trophy cup will be awarded to the gymnast and the group team with the highest number of points in the competition.

The competition ends on April 21.
