Ukrainian army shoots down 2 Russian fighters near Izium

The Ukrainian Army has shot down two Russian planes near Izium, eastern Ukraine, Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Synyehubov said, Report informs.

According to Synyehubov, anti-aircraft missile units defending Kharkiv have also intercepted missiles.

"Over the past day, Russian troops launched 55 strikes. We have noted about 240 times increase in the intensity of Grad and Uragan (missiles). In the evening, the enemy fired twice at the Kharkiv airport terminal from multiple launch rocket systems. Civil infrastructure, communication lines and a hospital were damaged in the city of Derhachi," Synyehubov wrote on Telegram.

He noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a Russian detachment operating in the Kharkiv Oblast and part of the 59th Tank Regiment of Russia's Western Military District.
