Baku. 20 December. REPORT.AZ/ Prosecutor of the Court of Accounts estimated the amount that was illegally spent by the government of Carles Puigdemont on the campaign for the preparation of an illegal referendum on the independence of Catalonia, as well as to the holding of the referendum, which took place on October 1 in more than 8 million euros, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.
According to the prosecutor Miguel Angel Torres, responsibility for embezzlement laid on 17 high-ranking members of the government of Puigdemont, including the former deputy chairperson of the generality Oriol Junqueras, who is in pre-trial detention, ElPaís reports.
The prosecutor considers Puigdemont himself to be the main culprit of the embezzlement.
