JD Vance: US open to good faith talks with Iran

US Vice President JD Vance departed for Pakistan on April 10 to take part in talks with Iran scheduled for April 11, CBS News journalist Jennifer Jacobs wrote on X, Report informs.

"Vance is off to Pakistan for Iran talks. He tells us: 'I think it's going to be positive."

'As the President of the United States said, if the Iranians are willing to negotiate in good faith, we're certainly willing to extend the open hand. If they're going to try to play us, then they're going to find the negotiating team is not that receptive,'" reads the post.

Vance added that the President "gave us some pretty clear guidelines."

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran. As a result, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several senior officials were killed. Following this, Iran began striking targets not only in Israel but also in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, and Cyprus.

On April 8, Iran and the United States agreed to a two-week ceasefire.
