Ukraine, Azerbaijan discuss energy infrastructure recovery projects

Ukraine and Azerbaijan have discussed the participation of Azerbaijani companies in rebuilding Ukraine's energy infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said on X, Report informs.

The discussions were held during a meeting in Kyiv with a delegation from Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis led by lawmaker Alibala Maharramzada.

"We also discussed the participation of Azerbaijani companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine's energy infrastructure damaged as a result of Russian attacks. We are ready to facilitate the implementation of joint projects," Shmyhal said.

The sides also reviewed the implementation of bilateral agreements, including cooperation in the energy sector.

Shmyhal expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for the equipment provided to Ukraine, "in particular, transformers that help strengthen the resilience of our energy system."

He also said Kyiv and Baku are working on a humanitarian initiative to provide rehabilitation in Azerbaijan for the children of Ukrainian energy workers killed during the war.
