Austrian Chancellor: Unequal distribution of vaccine leads to secret agreements

Due to the unequal distribution of the coronavirus vaccine within the European Union, some countries secretly sign supply contracts with pharmaceutical companies, Report informs, referring to TASS.

According to Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, the decisions of heads of state and government contradict such agreements. The Chancellor said he was unaware of such contracts:

"However, there are indications that there will be additional deals called 'sales' between member countries and pharmaceutical companies."

Kurz stressed that the strategy of unequal distribution of the vaccine in the European Union, such as Bulgaria and Latvia, will lead to a shortage of the required dose.
