Minister: "Funds allocated from state budget to youth grew 100 times over the past 15 years"

Baku. 14 December. REPORT.AZ/ "Azerbaijan is a young country. 60 percent of the population is under 30 years of age. The law on youth was adopted in 2001, and previously the Ministry of Youth and Sports was established in 1994. All this is an indication of attention paid to youth," Minister of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan Azad Rahimov said.

According to Report, he spoke at the Fifth IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians.

The Minister noted that the funds allocated from the state budget to the youth area have been increased by 100 times since 2003: "41 youth centers were established in the past decade and there are over 300 non-governmental organizations in the country. Young entrepreneurs are supported in the country, and opportunities are created for young people to launch their own business. Azerbaijani youth is represented in the Council of Europe, UN, European Union and over 30 international humanitarian organizations”.
