President of Czechia, Petr Pavel, has supported the expansion of the European Union and called it a geopolitical necessity, reports Novinky, Report informs via RBC-Ukraine.
He warned that Europe should not force Moldova and Georgia to wait for too long and leave them at the mercy of Russia.
However, according to the president, Europe must prepare for expansion.
"The EU cannot function equally with 12 or 35 members. Modernizing the EU is a necessary step," he added.
