Azerbaijan negotiating with Kazakhstan to increase grain import

To date, the Republic of Kazakhstan is negotiating with the governments of Georgia and Azerbaijan, which plan to increase the import volumes of Kazakh grains, declared the the Vice-Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gulmira Isayeva during her speech within frames of the international conference KazGrain-2019 in Nur-Sultan, on April 4, Report informs.

In previous years, grains from Kazakhstan demonstrated rather varying reach on the markets of the reporting countries. To date, Kazakhstan started developing the logistics, and the grain qualitative figures significantly exceed the figures of other countries, so they applied to Kazakhstan for increasing of the supplies. Both Azerbaijan and Georgia are ready to import nearly 1 mln tonnes of grains, G. Isayeva said.

In addition, in the current season Kazakhstan plans to export 1 mln tonnes of grains to Iran, which is starting opening its markets for Kazakhstan.

According to the Memorandum signed by Kazakhstan, Russia and Iran, Kazakh traders were authorised to supply wheat to Iran. Iranian millers are interested in co-processing of grains, therefore Kazakhstan can continue re-exporting flour on the markets of the third countries, G.Isayeva added.
