Georgia imported 3,751 tons of tomatoes worth $2.7 million from Azerbaijan in January-June 2026, according to calculations based on data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
Compared with the same period last year, the value of tomato imports from Azerbaijan increased 2.7-fold, while the volume rose 2.6-fold.
The figures made Azerbaijan Georgia's second-largest supplier of tomatoes during the first six months of the year.
Overall, Georgia imported 17,960 tons of tomatoes worth $13 million during the reporting period, down 6% in volume and 4% in value compared with the same period in 2025.
Türkiye remained Georgia's largest tomato supplier, exporting 9,230 tons worth $6.6 million. It was followed by Azerbaijan with 3,751 tons worth $2.7 million, Turkmenistan with 2,676 tons valued at $2.2 million, Iran with 2,249 tons worth $1.5 million, and Russia with 39.1 tons valued at $51,200.
