Assistant to President: Azerbaijan has a lot to do in agriculture

Baku. 10 December. REPORT.AZ/ "The last half-century was a refreshing period for agriculture," Azer Amiraslanov, Assistant to the President for Agrarian Policy Issues, said at the AgTech and Green Energy forum.

According to him, the agrarian sector is best formed in the developed countries: "It’s not accidental that the main exporters of the food products around the world are developed countries."

"In the 1960-1970s the notion of ‘Green Revolution’ entered the lexicon. Its main components are to create new types of plants, use progressive systems in the agrarian sector, industrialize this area. Though Azerbaijan took serious steps on abovementioned directions, we still have a lot to do," Amiraslanov said.

He also emphasized the importance of digital technologies in the agriculture.
