Azerbaijan is working on a mechanism to finance services provided by agricultural startups through subsidies, Anar Jafarov, director of the Agrarian Innovation Center under the Ministry of Agriculture, told Report.
According to him, startups in the sector are currently expanding their operations in mass production using their own funds and financing from investors.
"Overall, this is a very promising sector. The adopted state program sets development targets across a number of areas. Our farmers can achieve these goals by using smart solutions," Jafarov said.
He noted that considerable work remains to be done in this field.
"We are working to ensure that farmers respond positively to the solutions offered by startups. At the same time, we are developing a mechanism to finance farmers' use of these services through government subsidies," he added.
