UN Sec.-Gen., Russian FM to mull Russian food & fertilizer exports

Next week, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Report informs referring to Russian media.

The UN secretary-general said that during the meeting a number of issues will be discussed, ranging from the “grain deal” and the export of food and fertilizers from Russia to world markets, to the situation in Ukraine.

He noted that the UN is working hard to create conditions to remove all obstacles that still hinder the export of these goods, adding that a number of European ports have sent positive signals regarding the prospects for passing Russian fertilizers.

Guterres expressed hope that there will be a positive change in terms of the possibility of spreading the Russian grain and fertilizer without obstacles through Europe to other markets.
