Minister: Azerbaijan implementing projects to tackle threat of water shortage

Against the background of threats associated with global water shortage in the world, Azerbaijan is implementing large-scale projects to reconstruct drinking water and wastewater systems, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov said at an event dedicated to the opening of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences at ADA University in Baku, Report informs.
"Azerbaijan has limited water resources. In addition, an increase in population, expansion of agricultural areas, and climate change lead to a decrease in water, which requires a special and careful approach to water resources. We highly appreciate the efforts made by FAO and are addressing these issues through cooperation," he said.
