Local production covers over 70% of demand for 100,000 tons of grain seeds in Azerbaijan, Niyazi Amirbayov, chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan's Association of Grain Producers and Processors told journalists at the festival of agrarian innovations in Hajiqabul, according to Report.
He noted that with each passing year, local seed growers started to occupy a bigger part of the market.
Amirbayov said that Hajiqabul reported the record grain crops last year.
"So, the total yield was 55 quintals. Hajiqabul is a difficult area due to climatic conditions and soil. If we can achieve such results here, then this means that progress will be made in the agricultural sector," he said.
