Kazakhstan rises pear imports from Azerbaijan by sixfold

During the first six months of 2022, Azerbaijan imported 2,015 tons of pears for $1.82 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, the monetary value of the imports increased by 11%, and the volume by 11.4% compared to the same period last year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 1,282 tons (decreased by 15.3% compared to a year ago) of pears worth $1.154 million (-16%) from Belgium, 309.74 tons (+4 times) worth $278,760 (+4 times) from Turkiye, 221.86 tons (+41.7%) worth $199,860 (+42%) from the South African Republic, 78.62 tons worth $78,620 from Poland, and 58.24 tons worth $58,240 from Portugal.

Azerbaijan restored supplies from Poland after nine years and two months, and from Portugal after a year and three months.

Over the first six months of 2022, Azerbaijan exported 817.11 tons (+3.4 times) of pears worth $627,630 (+3.7 times).

Of this, 810.44 tons (+3.4) worth $625,180 were sold to Russia and 6.67 tons (+6.4 times) worth $2,450 (+5.8 times) to Kazakhstan.
