Entrepreneur: Iranian products being passed off as organic from Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan, Ordubad

A disturbing trend has been discovered in the Azerbaijani market: food products imported from Iran are being sold as organic products from Nakhchivan and Ordubad, entrepreneur Emin Aliyev said during a roundtable discussion organized as part of the Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2025), Report informs.
According to the businessman, the situation is causing serious concern among bona fide market participants.
"These products are being presented as organic, despite that the organic certification system in Azerbaijan is still in its infancy and has not yet reached the required level of development," Emin Aliyev added.
