Deutche Bahn plans to provide additional support to Ukraine

The German DB Cargo, a subsidiary of the Deutsche Bahn railway concern, in coordination with the German government, plans to provide Ukraine with more support for grain exports, head of DB Cargo Sigrid Nikutta said, Report informs, citing foreign media.

"In view of the threat of famine in some parts of the world and the huge need to export millions of tons of Ukrainian grain to world markets, we at DB Cargo will organize further orders and rail transport in coordination with the federal government," she said in an interview with the German media group RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND) .

With the help of subsidiaries in Poland and Romania, DB Cargo sends several trains with grain daily to various seaports.

Nikutta noted that now expanding agricultural exports is at issue. "The goal is to organize sustainable communication with seaports in the North, Black and Mediterranean seas," she said.
