Azerbaijan starts importing frozen chicken from 2 more countries

Azerbaijan imported 26,993 tons of frozen chicken (+10.2%) worth $43.694 million (+31%) in January-November last year, Report informs, citing the data of the State Statistics Committee.

The country imported 14,789 tons (-19%) of chicken worth $22 million (-7%) from Ukraine, 6,000 tons (+63%) worth $12.21 million (+2.1 times) from Russia, 3,721 tons (+2.3 times) worth $5.837 million from Belarus (+2.2 times), 2,359 tons (+6.3 times) worth $3.484 million from Georgia (+6.3 times), 64 tons (-86%) worth $93.04 thousand from Moldova (-85,6%).

This year, for the first time in the last 11 years (note: publicly available official statistics on foreign trade are up to 2011), Azerbaijan imported 20 tons worth $8,000 from Iran and 0.01 tons of chicken worth $0.04 thousand from Italy.

In 2021, Ukraine accounted for 75% of the 27,800 tons of frozen chicken that Azerbaijan bought from abroad (from 7 countries) and Russia was responsible for 15%.
