Azerbaijan starts importing wheat seeds from south Asia

From January through October 2022, Azerbaijan imported 3,306 tons of seed wheat for $2.2 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, these figures have decreased by 37.2% and 17.8% year-on-year, respectively.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 3,019 tons (-39.6%) of wheat seeds from Russia for $1.95 million (22% less than a year ago), 264.9 tons (+3.5%) from Turkiye for $231,000 (+44.4%) and 22 tons from India for $19,000.

This year, for the first time in the last 11 years (publicly available official statistics on foreign trade are as of 2011), supplies were made from India.
