Azerbaijan starts importing vegetable seeds from South American country

During the first four months of 2022, Azerbaijan imported 53.97 tons of vegetable seeds for $2.818 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, the monetary value of the imports decreased by 2.2%, but the volume increased by 66.7%, compared to the same period last year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 11.87 tons (increased by 82.3% compared to a year ago) of vegetable seeds worth $574,530 (+50.7%) from Turkiye, 0.01 tons (unchanged) worth $374,680 (+75 times) from Brazil, 10.33 tons (+10.6 times) worth $351,290 (+3.1 times) from France, 0.11 tons (+10%) worth $338,150 (-27.3%) from Thailand, 0.23 tons (+5.8 times) worth $333,050 (+2 times) from India.

This year, for the first time in the last 11 years (note: official statistics on foreign trade in open access have been maintained since 2011), Azerbaijan imported 0.1 tons of vegetable seeds from Ecuador for $12,540.
