Azerbaijan starts importing coriander seeds from Netherlands and Spain

In 2023, Azerbaijan imported 132.8 tons (+49%) of coriander seeds for $80,330 (-18%), Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 31.55 tons (-31%) of coriander seeds from Iran for $34,750 (-31%), 93.45 tons (+2.4 times) from Russia for $26,620 (-14%), 6.24 tons (+81%) from India for $12,650 (+96%), 1 ton from Poland for $2,250 (no imports last year), 0.3 tons (+-74%) from India for $1,950 (-77%).

Azerbaijan imported antifreeze from Spain (0.01 tons worth $310) and the Netherlands (0.01 tons worth $660) for the first time in 13 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access since 2011).

Of the 89 tons of coriander seeds imported to Azerbaijan (from 7 countries) in 2022, 52% came from Iran, and 43% from Russia.
