Azerbaijan starts importing coconuts from one more country

In January-August 2022, Azerbaijan imported 352.77 tons of coconuts worth $903,130, Report informs, referring to the State Statistics Committee.

Compared to the same period last year, this is 11% less in value and 18% in quantitative terms.

During the reporting period, 156.8 tons (-46%) of products were imported from Indonesia for $462,180 (-38%), from Vietnam - 144.36 tons (+33.3%) for $320,020 (+65%), from the Ivory Coast – 26.19 tons (-4.6%) for $52,390 (+2.2%), from China – 9.5 tons (supplies were restored after two years and two months) for $19,000, from India – 6.89 tons (+3 times) for $15,750 (+7 times.

Azerbaijan imported coconuts from Malaysia (2.5 tons worth $7,000) for the first time in 11 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access since 2011).

Some 68% of the 540 tons of coconuts brought to Azerbaijan last year were purchased from Indonesia.
