Azerbaijan's walnut imports from Russia increase sharply

In January 2022, Azerbaijan imported 533.48 tons of walnuts (shelled and unshelled) for $1.17 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, compared to the same period last year, imports decreased by 8% in monetary terms and 10% in quantitative terms.

In the first month of 2022, Azerbaijan imported 84.6 tons of walnuts worth $406,100 from Kyrgyzstan, 279.9 tons from Russia for $363,870, 128.97 tons from Ukraine for $272,570, 40 tons from the United States for $129,200. Azerbaijan also purchased 10 kg of walnuts from Germany for $80.

Compared to January 2021, Azerbaijan's walnut imports from Russia increased 13.6 times in monetary terms and 13.3 times in quantitative terms.
