Azerbaijan's frozen fruits imports from Türkiye skyrocket

Azerbaijan imported 124.4 tons of frozen fruits (including strawberry, raspberry, blackberry and others), valued at $319,000 during the first six months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period in 2023, the imports grew by 3 times in volume and 2.8 times in value.
In January-June 2024, Azerbaijan bought 87 tons (+4 times) of frozen fruits from Poland worth $187,000 (+3 times), 18 tons (+86 times) worth $50,000 from Türkiye (+93 times), 0.6 tons (+3 times) from Uzbekistan worth $28,000 (+3 times), 10 tons (+43%) from China worth $22,000 (+33%), and 3.8 tons from Ukraine worth $13,000 (no supply a year ago).
In 2023, Azerbaijan imported a total of 136 tons of frozen fruits from 15 countries, of which 61.8 percent fell to Poland.
