Azerbaijan quadruples sheep imports from Georgia

In January 2022, Azerbaijan imported 9,590 live sheep for $637,360, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, Azerbaijan’s expenditures on sheep imports decreased by 7.1%, while the number of imported sheep increased by 4.2%.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 5,960 sheep worth $342,410 from Georgia, and 3,630 sheep worth $294,950 from Russia.
Compared to the same period last year, the imports from Georgia increased by 3.5 times and 3.9 times, respectively, from Russia - by 38.5% and 41.7%.
