Azerbaijan may increase export of agricultural products to Arab countries

Today, the 7th meeting of the Azerbaijan-UAE Joint Intergovernmental Commission on economic, trade and technical cooperation is being held in Baku.

Report informs that Azerbaijan-UAE links and perspectives of expansion of cooperation are being discussed at the meeting.

Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, told journalists that the discussions are mainly related to cooperation on agriculture, transport, alternative and renewable energy, tourism.

"UAE has invested $2.1 billion in Azerbaijan so far. We held discussions with counterparts on transportation of local agricultural products to UAE and other countries of the Gulf. I think the annual trade turnover between the two countries should be more than $265 million. Next stage of our cooperation is important. Among the topics discussed is Azerbaijan’s participation in Expo Dubai 2020. We discussed Azerbaijan’s pavilion and products to be demonstrated. One of significant issues discussed between the sides was renewable energy. The two countries are expected to implement some significant projects in the next stage," he said.
