Azerbaijan doubles strawberry export to main supply market

In January-July 2022, Azerbaijan exported 8,671 tons (+99.5%) of strawberry and wild strawberry (fresh) worth $15.421 million (+99.9%), Report informs, citing the data of the State Statistics Committee.

8,385 tons (+2 times) worth $15.022 million (+99.4 %) were sold to Russia, 272.48 tons (+63 %) worth $386,910 (+2.1 times) to Kazakhstan, and 13,500 tons worth $12,150 to Belarus.

This year, for the first time in the last 11 years (note: publicly available official statistics on foreign trade are up to 2011), supplies were made to Belarus.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan bought 40.91 tons (-2.6%) of strawberries worth $102.28 thousand (+31%) from abroad.

Turkiye accounted for 34.93 tons (-16.1%) worth $87,330 (+12%) of imports and Iran was responsible for 5.98 tons (+18.7 times) worth $14,940 (+23.3 times).
