Azerbaijan doubles corn imports from key supply market

In January-June 2022, Azerbaijan imported 38,048 tons of corn worth $14.1 million, up 95.2% and 57%, respectively, from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
In the reporting period, 36,492 tons of corn (+2 times) worth $9.772 million (+2.6 times) were imported from Russia, 934.2 tons (-28%) worth $1.826 million (-26.7%) from Turkiye, 171.42 tons (+30%) worth $839,160 (+41%) from Serbia, 123.75 tons (+3.5 times) worth $692,900 (+3.5 times) from Romania and 124.44 tons (-21.5%) worth $682,900 (-15.7%) from Italy.
In 2021, 93.8% of the 30,900 tons of corn that Azerbaijan bought from 13 countries were imported from Russia.
